AoFAQ Level 3 Award in Emergency Paediatric First Aid (QCF)

A 1 day 6 hour Paediatric First Aid course aimed at those working with children of all ages from birth to puberty. (For First Aid purposes a child who is over 8 years old is classed as an adult. Our courses do cover all ages of children)

Our PFA course is OFSTED & EYFS compliant.

The Criteria for effective paediatric first aid training:

In order to meet the requirements of OFSTED and the EYFS, pediatric first aid our courses meet the following criteria:

  • Understand the role and responsibilities of the paediatric first aider.
  • Be able to assess an emergency situation safely.
  • Be able to provide first aid to an infant/child who is unresponsive and breathing normally.
  • Be able to provide first aid to an infant/child who is unresponsive and not breathing normally.
  • Be able to provide first aid to infant/child who has a foreign body airway obstruction.
  • Be able to provide first aid to an infant/child with external bleeding.
  • Understand how to provide first aid to an infant/child who is suffering from shock.
  • Understand how to provide first aid to an infant/child with anaphylaxis.

You will need to pass a hands-on and written assessment in order to qualify.
